My Take:

By Cassie Macdonell

The tragic loss of life at Robb Elementary School reignited the fire under the age-old gun control debate. Why, after each mass shooting, does the United States government address the situation, but no large, concrete actions are taken related to gun control?

Magnificent Mile shooting. Laguna Woods church shooting. Buffalo shooting. Pittsburgh shooting. Columbiana shooting. New York Subway attack. Sacramento shooting. Normandale Park shooting. Oxford High School shooting. Collierville shooting. Hialeah shooting. San Jose shooting. Colorado Springs shooting. Indianapolis Fedex shooting. Rock Hill shooting. Boulder shooting.

We are shocked after each of these events, even though mass shootings are becoming more frequent. The mass shootings listed above are from the last two years in the United States alone, amassing a total of 86 victims. I don’t want to ask any more questions. Serious conversations are needed, and they are needed before the list gets longer.
