My Take:
By Michael Boriero
Well, here we go again. Yet another devastating mass shooting in the United States. It’s terrifying how desensitized and numb we’ve all become when this happens now.
It’s the same old, classic response, too. Rinse and repeat, right? There’s a shooting, which in this case claimed 21 lives, mostly children, we talk about it, nothing is solved, and repeat.
There was a mass shooting only two weeks ago in Buffalo. Thirteen people were shot that day, resulting in 10 deaths. I’m just bracing myself now for the next inevitable mass shooting.
Does that come off as morbid and bleak? Maybe. But I have no reason to believe anything will change unless the country finally comes down hard on gun laws. And that won’t happen.
And please, we need stop with the ‘it’s not guns, it’s mental health’ argument. It has always been about the guns.
