My Take:
By Aiden Wilson
Iknew a Muslim girl for a spell, one of the sweetest people I ever knew, who couldn’t hurt a fly if she tried, and who’s biggest fear was being attacked on the street by some old racist, just for dressing the way she did. It’s a sad reality that in an age where acceptance is preached through every facet of our culture that anybody should live in fear because of who they are.
Another good one was the mother of a friend. She lived in Canada all her life, maiden language being English, and worked as a doctor for decades. She still gets comments on how good her English is, or how she likes it here in Canada. Ignorance is the only word to describe it, and a word serving as the root of many troubles for any shape and shade that isn’t white.
