My Take:
By Matthew Mccully
Before a newspaper hits the stand or reaches your door it passes through a lot of hands. I want you to know how many before you chuckle at the impending demise of print media like it was going the way of the dodo bird.
Editorial, advertising, production, printing, distribution.
One day a week represents a lot of jobs lost.
And not only that.
What you’re looking at is a time capsule of not only news, but births, deaths, weddings, assembled with great care to provide a verified source of information.
Yes, times are changing, and the industry needs to adjust.
But in the transition, a lot is at stake. Right now, anyone anywhere can post anything online and jazz it up with some graphics and call it news.
And people are chasing it down with a coffee that was double the price of a newspaper.
