“Elvis” rocked the building!

Jessie Pelletier

The atmosphere was effervescent at The Stanstead Legion Branch # 5 last Saturday afternoon. The reason for all the excitement was the Elvis tribute show, with well-known Mark Shelton.

The venue was sold out and people had been waiting for the event for quite a while. The wait was worth it and nobody was disappointed. Shelton is a very generous, humble and kind artist with amazing vocal skills and an unbelievable talent as an entertainer.

He is an accomplished artist from Vermont, close to the Canadian Border. Shelton has had a great career singing Elvis’ songs, and singing all musical genres and now we found out why!

For over three hours he sang, joked with the crowd and talked to us about who Elvis was, even including some trivia questions a few times between songs.

“I am having fun doing this, this is not work,” he said dripping with sweat in his gold lamé jacket, his Italian shoes and his Elvis belt buckle. “If people are having fun, I am having fun as well. I love what I do,” said Shelton after the show.
