LETTER TO THE

OEDITOR: n December 12, 2022 I mailed a bundle of ten Christmas cards. My husband put them in our private mailbox at the end of our rural driveway. We have mailed our letters there for 49 years.

These Christmas letters have never been received. In January 2023 I began calling the Canada Post support telephone number. I have called five times. None of the Canada Post phone representatives could give me any helpful information.

My next step was to contact the Canada Post Ombudsman. The letter I received from them advised me to use Registered Mailtm, Xpressposttm, or Prioritytm for my mail. That would be a moneymaker for them, but very expensive for me.

The February 2023 letter that I received from the Canada Post Ombudsman stated that my “file has now been closed”. I was not satisfied with that and sent a second letter asking what investigating steps had been taken. The response in that letter was “your file will remain closed, and we will not respond to any further communication on this issue”.

I think that my letters are all together somewhere. Where can that be? Do any postal workers have some encouraging information for me. Will my Christmas letters ever be delivered? Maybe….. next Christmas!
