Parkview students give Granby council the gift of courage, forethought

Monday night, the city council of Granby received a generational chair from Ms. Ashley Newton’s class at Parkview Elementary School with the support of Mères au front, Fondation pour la Sauvegarde des écosystèmes de la Haute Yamaska and students from École secondaire l’envolée.

The chair was given to remind and give courage to elected officials to make decisions with the health and wellbeing of future generations in mind. The town of Granby accepted to place the chair at the decision table to symbolically represent the children’s voice.

Thomas Whittier, 10, explained all the thinking and effort he and his classmates put into creating the chair. “We worked hard to make this chair, we hope you like it and that it will help you take good decisions for the future generations.
